Background

Brunmir Grunnson-Grunnson, cousin of Barundin Stoneheart, King of Zhufbar, has recently married. In taking Grimgal Grunnson, of Karak Kadrin, as his bride some months ago, he reforged the Grunnson line, and strengthened the links between Zhufbar and Karak Kadrin.

However, some seven months after the marriage, Grimgal gave birth to an abomination. Dwarfen doctors diagnosed that the misshapen babe was the result of sexual congress with either human or halfling.

Once entered into the Book of Grudges, Grimgal was marched back to the Slayer King's Keep and imprisoned, awaiting possible execution.

Whilst King Barundin's litigants attempt to have the marriage annulled, he has charged Brunmir with the task of discovering which human or halfling planted their nefarious seed in dwarfen soil. Brunmir has the command of several hundred dwarfs and will march to each and every village within a hundred mile radius of Kadrak Kadrin, giving word of his unresolved grudge against the "devious lustful rogue" and his intention to make war on the villain's home town unless he is given over.
